If you are looking for the shortest trek that includes your arrival then this 2 Days Rwanda Gorilla Safari is the perfect package for you.
Since the 1 day gorilla tracking safari requires you to already be in Kigali City, Rwanda, this 2 Days Rwanda Gorilla Safari package is the shortest of Rwanda gorilla safaris that a tourist who is yet to travel to Rwanda can do, unless your arrival is somewhere not later than 03:00 hrs (EAT).
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Volcanoes National Park, Musanze
Upon your arrival, you shall be met by our company representative and offered a free airport transfer after in private safari and guide. Your safari guide should drive you around Kigali City, taking you to various places of sights like cultural markets, the Gisozi Genocide Memorial Monument along with other interesting places so that you have a clear picture of the past and current Rwanda in your eyes as you begin off with your safari. We shall have our lunch at Hotel Mille De Collines, a hotel that was featured in the Hollywood blockbuster – Hotel Rwanda and tour its surroundings as well before driving off straight to Volcanoes National Park through the beautiful athousand hills and mountains of Rwanda that Sir Winston Churchill defined Rwanda for.
We should reach Volcanoes National Park in the evening and the fact that you are bound for a physically challenging activity the following day calls for a heavy dinner and enough rest hence, we shall not do much when we arrive but rather have dinner and rest. We always recommend you hydrate a lot on this day, eat a lot of fruits and have enough sleep to kill of the fatigue of travelling if you are to finish the next day with a less challenge. Dinner and overnight at our place of stay.
Luxury: Mountain Gorilla View Lodge
Moderate: Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge
Low Budget: Kinigi Guest House.
Day 2: Rwanda Gorilla Trekking
We shall have breakfast and head to the park headquarters for a short briefing session before setting off for Gorilla trekking in the misty jungles of Volcanoes National Park. Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Rwanda is quite shorter compared to the Uganda gorilla safaris experience and couldd last up to 6 hours and shorter that 2 hours depending on the movement of mountain gorillas. Locating these primates can be challenging at times but on those lucky days, you will only make a few strides and bump into them. We have up to an hour of close contact when we finally locate these primates but we are restricted to a 7 meters distance so as to avoid transmission of illnesses such as Influenza that could put the lives of these primates at risk. You can take limitless photographs with your flash off, wave at the gorillas, watch them laugh at you and just enjoy your moments with them before heading back to the park headquarters for your respective gorilla tracking certificates.
We shall then have lunch at our place of stay before embarking on a return journey to Kigali International Airport to catch up with your return flight.
End of 2 Days Rwanda Gorilla Safari.
