Want to have an experience with the mountain gorillas in Uganda but rather scared of the long 9 hours drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park from Uganda? There is another way to this and that is by making your entourage via Kigali, a journey that should last for a maximum of 4 hours compared to the 9 hours drive from Entebbe International Airport or Kampala. This 3 days Uganda gorilla safari package sees you arrive via Kigali – Rwanda, spend roughly 4 hours to head to Bwindi Forest for your gorilla trek and then transfer back to Kigali for your departure flight.
Day 1 – Arrival in Kigali and transfer to Bwindi Forest National Park
Upon your arrival at the airport, you will be met by our company representative who will pick you up and take you for a brief city tour around Kigali if time allows and then later on transfer to Bwindi, a journey that should take you a maximum of 4 hours. Dinner and overnight at Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge for comfortable stay and Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge for luxury stay.
Day 2 – Mountain Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Forest
This is the day you bond with your long time cousins in the impenetrable forests of Bwindi. This same day calls for a very early rise so that you have enough time to prepare and have heavy breakfast since we have to be at the part headquarters by 7:30 for a short brief meeting that should enlighten us on the Dos and Donts of Mountain Gorilla trekking along with provision of other relevant information.
Immediately after this meeting, you shall stride into the forests in search for gorillas, an adventure that should take you between 2 – 8 hours depending on how long you take to locate the gorillas inclusive of a full hour encounter with these primates. After this once-in-a-lifetime safari activity, you will then head back to the lodge for lunch, dinner and relaxation. Dinner and overnight at Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge for comfortable stay and Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge for luxury stay.
Day 3 – Batwa Trail, Transfer to Kigali and Departure
This is probably the last day of your safari but guess what? We have another interesting activity for your morning. You will briefly do the Batwa Trail, an exciting activity that should bond you with the life of these pygmies who still choose to live an ancient life despite living in a modern world. After the Batwa Trail, your driver will transfer you to Kigali having lunch en route and later on catch up with your departure flight or rather be dropped at a hotel around Kigali.
